What We Do

In the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, California, lies Thapasya Arts - a non-profit organization ignited by a passionate group of local talents. Our mission is to breathe new life into the cultural treasures of our beloved homeland, Keralam. United as a team, we've established a haven for the performing arts, driven by a profound love for Malayalam drama and a commitment to showcasing the remarkable talents of our local artists.

During the challenging era of the COVID-19 pandemic, we extended our support across oceans to the artists in Keralam. Through virtual platforms, we facilitated the display of a myriad of Kerala's artistic traditions, including captivating Kathakali performances and eloquent Malayalam poem recitals. As a result of these endeavors, our team garnered sponsorships that have been channeled back into our organization, sustaining our noble pursuits.

Beyond our own endeavors, we stand as fervent collaborators with fellow Malayalee organizations within the Bay Area. Our artists take center stage in a variety of events organized by these esteemed groups, fostering a rich tapestry of cultural exchange and celebration.

As we look to the horizon, our aspirations continue to soar. The Thapasya International Short Film Festival is on the horizon, a testament to our dedication to creative storytelling. Additionally, an exciting cultural extravaganza named Samanwayam is in the works. This event promises to blend the grandeur of Kathakali from Kerala with the grace of Bharatnatyam, Mohiniyattam, soulful musical performances, and more, all brought to life by the gifted artists of the Bay Area.

Thapasya Arts stands as a beacon, illuminating the profound connection between distant shores through the universal language of art.
